Lookfor — Competition Participant App.
Hidetreasures — Master App
How it works:
This app is designed for orienteering competitions.
Competition organizers place checkpoints (marks) in designated areas. A topographic map of this area must be prepared. The checkpoints (marks) are marked on the map.
Competitors, using only a map and compass, must find all the designated checkpoints (marks) in the area. They must find as many as possible in the shortest possible time.
At these checkpoints, they must somehow mark their discovery status. There are several methods:
- Electronic tags + bracelets for participants who collect information
- Punch punches, which are used to punch holes in the report sheet
- GPS, the point is recorded on the participant’s mobile device
- QR tags, the point is recorded on the participant’s mobile device
- New method: NFC tags, the point is recorded on the participant’s mobile device
Lookfor — An app installed on the participant’s mobile device. No internet or mobile data connection is required. It works autonomously.
Required Device Permissions (phone, tablet)
- Device must support NFC reading
- Camera permissions are required to read QR codes
A QR code is an alternative method for recording a Checkpoint.
Note: This version of the application is only in Russian.
